Blurb: When Officer Christopher Saunders sees a heroic dog on the news, he knows instantly it's the K-9 partner for him. Too bad Samson, alpha of the Pine Hollow pack, has other plans.

Officer Christopher Saunders just completed his K-9 training and he can't wait to pick out his first partner. But when none of the specially-trained dogs catches his eye he gets disappointed, until he sees a heroic stray on the news. Christopher is sure he can train the dog himself, if only given the chance.

Too bad Samson has other plans. But going home with this man is a better idea than waiting for his shape-shifter pack to figure out he'd been stupidly captured like some common poodle. The collar and leash also had to go. There was no way he'd be wearing them for long.

Review: Samson was on a run when he smells smoke. He goes to investigate finding a house and fire and runs to save a child trapped inside. Overwhelmed by smoke he passes out and is captured and taken to a shelter to be claimed. Officer Christopher is looking for a canine partner when he first sees the dog that is rescued he falls for it right away and wants him as his partner. He has no idea just how much he has fallen and what kind of partner he has found.
I really liked this book. Though it is the third in the series it stand alone nicely. It is my first and I wasn’t lost at all. I enjoyed the dynamics between Samson and his sister Evangeline. I also loved the love story between Samson and Christopher. My only real issue was the story was a bit rushed being so short, and  Samson stepping into the shower with Christopher before they ever even met as humans was a bit unbelievable. The man would have been scared to death not letting him do the things he did  right then and there.  Over all though I really enjoyed this story and will probably catch up on the series.

Recommendations: If you like werewolf shifters, men that risk their life for others, true love, soul mates, and hot sensual mansex this one is for you.
